Announcing auditions for a new, short-form, improvisational comedy troupe, the Acme Improv Company, directed by 10-year improv veteran and instructor, David Fisher.The troupe is produced alongside Acme Theater Productions in Maynard, MA.The A.I.C. is based out of Acme’s home theater in Maynard, and will perform there a minimum of four times a year (plus possible additional outgigs in the 128/495 area.) The Company will rehearse on average twice a month, and we are looking for six to eight improvisors interested in being a part of this comedy experience. It is a great opportunity for former improv performers or newly-trained improvisors unable to commit to the weekly grind of a full-time schedule. The Audition is Tuesday, August at Acme Theater, ArtSpace, 61 Summer Street, Maynard, MA. It will involve character and scene work, plus a few improv games. Acme Theater Productions, Maynard’s own multi-award winning community theater, is excited to announce the formation of the Acme Improv Company. The newly-christened Acme Improv Company, led by 12-year improv veteran, instructor and Artistic Director of the company David Fisher, will bring you spontaneous humor that you never thought you'd need. If you are familiar with "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" or "Thank God You're Here!” you are familiar with improvisational comedy... making the laughs up as you go along. No scripts, no nets, no kidding! The Acme Improv Co. is made up of some of the funniest performers in the Metrowest area, and they have been brought together to bring you smiles and laughter for all occasions. They truly are the Misfits of Improv! The Acme Improv Co. will present four main stage shows a year and be available for events and fundraisers; every show is guaranteed to be different, unpredictable, and a wild ride. In the past, all of Acme’s improv shows have sold out every night, every seat filled with audiences yelling for more. These shows will keep audiences rolling down the aisles in laughter. Productions:
